[Panel 1]
[Bell]
I think we can safely say that we
got the birthday right yesterday.

[Nils]
Yes, hats off to us.

[Nils]
I could have sworn I'd
already given her a copy of
Howl's Moving Castle.

[Bell]
Yes, but I figured she
might like to have an
official and legal version.

[Panel 2]
[Nils]
You were right, of course.

[Bell]
I usually am.

[Nils]
I reckon we got off lightly
only having to watch it
twice yesterday evening.

[Bell]
Yes, well, she wanted to reread the
book as well, to compare them.

[Panel 3]
[Nils]
The surprising thing was that she
found time to cut her cake at all.

[Bell]
I didn't know it was POSSIBLE
to cut a cake and read a book
at the same time.

[Nils]
You know, I didn't have Caz down
as someone who bakes fancy cakes.

[Bell]
She said it was that or a new
book-case, and she'd already built
all the book-cases that would fit
into Elizabeth's room.

[Panel 4]
[Bell]
And your present was spot-on.

[Nils]
I didn't need those
Ponsonbys. I know
them justabout
by heart.

[Bell]
Well, you've made a small
librarian very happy.

[Nils]
How long d'you suppose it will be
before she notices that we're here?

[Bell]
I give it at least three days...
